Symbiosis is one of India’s leading private co-educational institutions imparting quality education for over 40 years. Symbiosis International University is a multi-lingual,multi-national and multi-disciplinary educational complex located in Pune,Maharashtra,India. It has been given official recognition by the UGC and the AICTE. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC) has conferred an 'A' grade(with a CGPA of 3.35 out of 4) to the University. SIU is part of the Symbiosis Society which is its managing body. Symbiosis society was established in 1971 by Padma Bhushan Dr.S.B Mujumdar with the objective of promoting the idea of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'(World is One Family) by facilitating the interaction between Indian and Foreign students through education. From a single building in 1976, Symbiosis has grown today in and around Pune, Nashik, Noida and Bengaluru as well.

In 2002,the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India conferred the “Deemed to be University” status on Symbiosis, and further in 2006,the UGC vide its notification withdrew the word Deemed and renamed the university as Symbiosis International University(SIU).

Ever since its inception in 1971, SYMBIOSIS has been synonymous with progress. Symbiosis has spread its wings by establishing the first outside Maharashtra campus, in Bengaluru in the year 2008. SIBM Bengaluru has just in a couple of years of its establishment, of course with the full support and guidance of the eminent Board of Management and the Symbiosis Society, carved out a niche for itself. The focus, now, is on matching global standards of management education. Bengaluru is at the forefront of globalization,and SIBM-B is perfectly poised to cater to the confluence of the east and the west.
